Payless Car Rental System, Inc. - Corporate Headquarters - St. Petersburg, FL

Directed marketing for three market segments, travel agents, consumers, and franchise sales for Payless Car rental franchise system. All creative, writing, production and implementation of promotional programs and campaigns. Developed international cooperative campaigns and partnerships.

a. Created the largest cooperative campaign in the company’s history by featuring franchisees in ads that were published in Delta Sky magazine, the airline’s in-flight magazine. Ads played on word to call attention to franchise locations with a focus on the season.

b. Designed materials for and produced a user-friendly CD that was distributed to the franchise system for ease of use and branding their individual businesses. CD’s contained ready-to-use print ads, radio commercials, full-color magazine ads, sign art, posters, etc. and saved the corporate headquarters thousands of dollars in printing time-sensitive collateral.

c. Created hang-tags for the rear view mirrors of rental cars to call attention to the company’s referral bonus program. Utilizing the hole that was punched out of the piece, customers could save redeemable “coins” for car rental perks, such as upgrades.

d. Developed a series of comic strips for Travel Agent Magazine (relative to travel agent’s day-to-day experiences) as part of a cooperative advertising campaign with American Express, Shoneys, and Summer Suites.  The focus was relationship building with a principal marketing segment, travel agents, and was backed up with a direct mail campaign.

e. Developed direct mail piece for a local advertising campaign with MOSI, Museum of Science and Industry.

f. Wrote and/or edited a monthly newsletter article and business communications for CEO Fred Lin and produced PowerPoint presentations for the annual meetings.

g. Wrote and edited most of the content for the monthly newsletter, which is an archive of the marketing efforts promoted in to the franchise system. 

h. Created a campaign that targeted over 50 travelers with a comic strip series in Travel Choices, published by ASTA Agency Management.
